ローラン・グラッソの個展が開催 「雲」をテーマにした4つの風景画を展示

ローラン・グラッソの個展が開催 「雲」をテーマにした4つの風景画を展示

フランス出身アーティストのローラン・グラッソ（Laurent Grasso）が、個展「Orchid Island」をペロタン東京で開催する。会期は1月26日から2月24日まで。
同展では、モノクローム映像「オーキッド アイランド（Orchid Island）」と、4つの風景画を展示する。いずれも「雲」をメインテーマに据え、オーキッド アイランドでは、かつて蘭が自生していたことで知られる台湾の蘭嶼島で撮影された映像をもとに制作。緑豊かな島の上空に登場する真四角で巨大な雲を描く。風景画には、雲を描いた半透明の膜をかけることで雲を物質化し、映像との対比を表現するという。

ローラン・グラッソは、1972年生まれ、フランス・ミュルーズ出身。パリ国立高等美術学校とロンドンのセントラル・セント・マーチンズを経て、ニューヨークのクーパー・ユニオンを卒業。フランス・パリとアメリカ・ニューヨークを拠点に、映像、絵画、彫刻、インスタレーションといったさまざまな手法の作品を制作し、フランスのオルセー美術館やグラン・パレ、ポンピドゥー・センター、東京の森美術館やソウルの国立現代美術館、北京のレッドブリック美術館、ロンドンのヘイワード・ギャラリー、ハーシュホーン美術館など、世界各国で展示を行っている。2015年に芸術文化勲章のシュヴァリエを受勲し、2018年にマルセル・デュシャン賞を受賞した。
