1978年にレンツォ・ロッソがイタリアで創業した、デニムを主力商品とするプレミアム・カジュアル。イタリアらしいグラマラスで遊び心のあるリアルクローズが特徴。メンズとウィメンズ、キッズのほか、ホーム・コレクションも手がける。メインラインの「ディーゼル」のほか、ストリートカジュアルライン「55 DSL」(2014年に「ディーゼル」に統合)、ハイエンドラインの「ディーゼル ブラック ゴールド」がある。2002年にはカール・ラガーフェルドとコラボレーションし、「Lagerfeld Gallery by DIESEL」を発表した。2020年、「Y/プロジェクト」のグレン・マーティンスがクリエイティブ・ディレクターに就任。2022年春夏ミラノ・コレクションで、若々しくフレッシュなデビュー作を披露した。
